Abyssal Thorn

Abyssal Thorn represents the journey through mental darkness, pain, and inner turmoil toward resilience, self-protection, and transformation. It honors the reality of mental health struggles — the heavy, shadowy depths — while celebrating the strength it takes to endure and emerge from them.

Symbolism:

  • The Bat- Bats are creatures of the night that navigate darkness using their own inner senses. In this collection, the bat symbolizes intuition, facing your inner demons, and rebirth. Just as bats emerge from caves at dusk, it represents coming out of depressive episodes, anxiety, or emotional isolation with newfound awareness and power. It’s a reminder that you can thrive even when everything feels dark.
  • The Thorns- Thorns embody pain, boundaries, and protection. Mental health struggles often feel sharp and wounding (like thorns), but they also teach us to set boundaries, guard our energy, and grow despite hardship. The chains represent feeling trapped by our own minds (depression, trauma, intrusive thoughts), yet the spikes show defiance and the ability to weaponize that pain into strength.
  • The Skull- The skull is a classic memento mori symbol — a confrontation with mortality and the fragility of life. In a mental health context, it stands for facing your darkest thoughts head-on, accepting impermanence, and choosing to live fully despite anxiety, despair, or suicidal ideation. It’s about radical acceptance of the "death" of old versions of yourself so new growth can occur

Abyssal Thorn is for those who have walked through the darkest parts of their mind and refused to be consumed. It’s a tribute to resilience in the face of mental illness — depression, trauma, anxiety, BPD, or any "abyssal" struggle.
